Print

KyrgyzstanAccording to the Head of the Department of Livestock and Veterinary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan, Samat Aliyev, the eggs produced by poultry farms in Kyrgyzstan are more expensive than imported ones.

According to him, each of the four major poultry farms in the country produces about 50 million eggs per year. “Eggs are mostly imported from Russia, the Government of which supports its poultry farmers. Domestic products can not compete in price with imported ones. This situation can lead to loss of poultry industry.

He believes that in order to solve the problem the Government should introduce the State duty on imported eggs. “At present this issue is being considered together with the Ministry of Economic Regulation”, Samat Aliyev said.
