South Korea shares knowhow on bird flu control

2706-South-KoreaSouth Korea will share its knowhow on bird flu quarantine with Southeast Asian countries as part of its effort to help contain future outbreaks. The National Veterinary Research and Quarantine Service in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency has invited 30 quarantine experts from eight Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) countries to attend a training program that will address its knowhow in surveillance and control of the bird flu such as testing equipment and drugs invented in South Korea. South Korea will also inform Asean officials of Seoul's measures in dealing with other livestock diseases, such as foot-and-mouth disease and brucella.
