For the worldwide poultry industry, all roads will lead to the 2010 International Poultry Expo, Jan. 27-29, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The annual event is sponsored by U.S. Poultry & Egg Association.
The Expo has long been recognized as the global marketplace for the poultry and egg industry. In 2009, almost 18,000 industry leaders from throughout the United States and 96 other countries travelled to Atlanta for the show. More than 850 exhibiting companies displayed the latest technology, equipment, supplies, and services for all phases of poultry and egg production and processing. All segments of the industry are represented: live production, hatcheries, processing, further processing, marketing, feed milling, rendering, and all support activities.
Complementing the giant exhibit floor, education programs will keep management up to date on key industry issues. The education sessions will kick off Tuesday afternoon with the second annual Animal Agriculture Environmental Sustainability Summit. It will continue on Wednesday morning. Programs on Thursday and Friday will examine a variety of other important topics.
New for 2010, a unique "Members to Atlanta" (M2A) program will waive the registration fee for member firms of USPOULTRY engaged in the production of poultry and egg products. The program is supported through the sponsorship of several exhibiting companies: Marel/Stork, Fort Dodge, Valco, Cobb, Alltech and Jamesway. It is available only through on-line registration.
The 2010 Expo will include cooking demonstrations with poultry and egg products in a new Atlanta Pavilion on the exhibit floor in B Hall.
USPOULTRY and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau are teaming up to promote the first annual FeatherFest. Participating local restaurants will compete for the "Best Of," with menu categories featuring poultry and egg dishes. Many Atlanta restaurants will also be offering specials and discounts during IPE week.
The preregistration fee for the 2010 Expo is $35 (USD). The preregistration deadline is January 8. On-site registration is $60 (USD) - no checks, no refunds, and no substitutions. Funds raised at the Expo are reinvested into the industry in the form of research, education, communication, and technical services.
