Working Group 9 (Welfare) of the European federation of the World's Poultry Science Association (WPSA) has announced details about the 8th European Symposium on Poultry Welfare, which will be held in Cervia, Italy on 18-22 May 2009.
The main topics of the symposium will include:
Welfare of meat producing poultry (broilers, turkeys, waterfowl, game birds)
Welfare of pullets and laying hens
Welfare of reproducing poultry (parent stock, breeders)
Welfare of organic poultry
Welfare and poultry nutrition
Welfare of poultry during transport
Welfare problems related to potential/actual outbreaks of Avian Influenza and other diseases
Welfare related to endo- and ectoparasites
Free papers.
In addition to this interesting technical programme, participants are invited to join the WPSA social events and excursions and to experience the beauty of Italian culture, art and nature.
The deadline for early registration is 15 February 2009, and the final deadline for registration payment is 30 March 2009.
