Print

1190-vietnam-mercatoThe bird flu has resurfaced in Vietnam hitting the central province of Quang Tri and the northern province of Phu Tho, reported the Animal Health Department. Over 2200 infected ducks were culled in Quang Tri's Hai Lang and Gio Linh's districts. Nearly 1500 poultry in Phu Tho's Ha Hoa district were reported dead form the bird flu. Two people in the province were suspected of contracting the bird flu virus and were taken to the provincial hospital. Local authorities culled the infected birds, disinfected the affected areas and set up quarantine zones to prevent the disease spread.
