Thai chicken exporters like Charoen Pokphand Foods Pcl and GFPT Pcl could benefit from the dioxin scandal in Germany as a supply shortage could trigger more imports from Thailand. Bualuang Securities forecast chicken exports to EU will grow in the next three to six month and the export price will also increase accordingly.
The demand could also prompt higher production and sales of feed. Bualuang says the situation may encourage the EU to consider expanding its chicken export quota for Thailand from the current volume of 160,033 tonnes.
