JELUVET is a raw fibre concentrate that allows nutrient-independent dosing of crude fibre in poultry breeding. It consists of around 70 per cent insoluble fibres (ADF), which improve the intestinal health of chickens and turkeys. JELUVET strengthens the immune system, enhances performance and reduces the administration of medication.
Avoiding antinutritional effects
Feed management is of crucial importance when it comes to maintaining poultry health and obtaining consistent performance and breeding results. Traditional crude fibre sources such as cereals and bran can be contaminated with harmful mycotoxins. In addition, cereals and bran contain varying amounts of soluble and insoluble fibres. Soluble fibres should only be present in limited amounts in feed, however, as they have an antinutritional effect. In combination with water they form a gel and encapsulate nutrients, which can then no longer be absorbed by the organism. Insoluble fibres, on the other hand, do not form a gel and have no antinutritional effect. They improve the digestibility of starch and promote the development of the gizzard and intestine.
Healthy intestine – healthy animals
The intestine is one of the most sensitive systems in galliforms. A digestive tract that does not work properly causes health problems and reduces performance. Digestive problems favour the emergence of pathogens and thus of diseases. A constant proportion of insoluble fibres in feed improves faecal quality and accelerates intestinal passage and the excretion of detrimental metabolic substances.
Reduced feather picking
Feeds with a consistently high proportion of crude fibres can curb feather picking. Studies have shown that chickens ingest lignocellulose if they have free access to it. Feather picking is reduced correspondingly, as crude fibres assume the function of the feathers in digestion. Insoluble fibres appear to be essential to healthy digestion in galliforms.
Crude fibres in their natural state
JELUVET facilitates efficient feed management for chickens and turkeys. It ensures a balanced intake of calories and crude fibre. Feeds with a constant amount of insoluble fibres increase productivity and performance.
JELUVET allows nutrient-independent dosing; the company Jelu-Werk recommend a ratio of between 0.25 and 1 per cent. JELUVET raw fibre concentrate consists of natural lignocellulose that is exclusively obtained from renewable plants. JELUVET has a constant proportion of around 70 % insoluble fibres (ADF), is nutrient-independent, free of minerals and 100 % mycotoxin free.
