Annual Aviagen China Poultry Production School Continues to Grow

1529-AVIAGEN-parent-stockAviagen, the worldwide leader in poultry genetics, recently concluded its fourth annual China Poultry Production School at the Cactus Resort in Sanya City, Hanan Province in China (March 28 – April 3, 2010). The school – designed after the Aviagen Production Management School which will celebrate its 47th year this summer – is dedicated to sharing information and best practices with customers to advance their success with Aviagen poultry products.

“Aviagen long established and highly comprehensive Production Management School in the U.S. is well-known in the poultry industry. With the Aviagen China School, we’re bringing that same level of commitment, and in-depth communication to customers here,” said Bill Souther, Senior Vice President, Aviagen Asia. “The School fosters collaboration between customers, Aviagen personnel, academia and other industry experts to better equip our customers with the knowledge and tools to be successful. We’re very pleased with the participation and success of the China School over the past four years, and look forward to continued growth.”

During the 7 day course, more than 69 participants received presentations from 11 speakers including Aviagen poultry professionals and industry experts. Highlights of the comprehensive educational program include:

  • Dr. Rafael Monleon, Asia Veterinarian, Aviagen, “Biosecurity Review of China”
  • Dr. Kim Huang, Asia Nutritionist, Aviagen, “Nutrition Changes in China”
  • Dr. Dinah Nicholson, Global Manager, Hatchery Development & Support for Aviagen, “Latest in Hatchery Practice”
  • Mr. Bruce Evans, Regional Technical Manager with Aviagen, “Avian Physiology, Anatomy and Biology”

Aviagen customers also contributed to the program including Mr. Lu Jun, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Arbor Acres Poultry Breeding Company, Ltd., and Mr. Gong Xin Min, Production Director of Shandong Yisheng Livestock and Poultry Breeding Company, Ltd.

The Aviagen China School provides a good opportunity for local growers to gain valuable information, practical advice and insight on a variety of topics including regional management recommendations, product performance, nutritional advice, biosecurity objectives, and veterinarian issues at the grandparent, parent and broiler levels.

The 2010 China School was hosted and coordinated by Mr. Han Feng, Aviagen Vice President, China and Mr. Fred Kao, L.I.R. Business Manager for Aviagen in Asia.
