Keeping up with the times

Times are changing. Marel Food Systems and Stork Food Systems are changing, too. Change brings new demands with new thinking and together Marel and Stork are responding with new, innovative machines and systems for their customers.

The internationally renowned brands AEW Delford, Carnitech, Marel, Scanvaegt, Stork and Townsend offer the most comprehensive range of products and systems for the global meat and poultry industries.

While Marel and Stork will each retain their individual identity and character, joint efforts in engineering and design will allow their customers to think in terms of the total process.

Complementary product lines will enable Marel and Stork to provide value for their customers. A shared culture of innovation permits the two companies to focus on the key issues in the industry, such as food safety, automation, yield, traceability and product inspection to name but a few.

At the forthcoming Anuga FoodTec 2009 Marel and Stork join forces to provide customers with a unique, one-stop approach designed to meet all their processing needs.

Using minimum pressure and with a limited number of mechanical operations Stork MasterFormer portions and forms meat dough into an end product comparable to that made by hand.
MasterFormer's strengths:

  • Retains the open structure and texture of the meat dough
  • Suitable for both filled and unfilled products
  • Minimal waste of ingredients
  • Simple operation and maintenance
  • Multiple forming options

The patented Townsend Desinewed Minced Meat (DMM) technology harvests the residual meat left on the bone after deboning as high-quality 3 mm manufacturing meat.
The advantages are the following:

  • Additional deboning yield
  • High-quality manufacturing meat
  • An extremely short payback time

Streamline, the innovative new trimming line from Marel Food Systems, enables meat processors to monitor and collect data on yield, throughput and quality throughout the entire processing cycle. Thus, Streamline gives processors the ability to maximize the selection of cuts into highest price products and to minimize red meat loss.

Together with StreamLine, it will be showcased Innova, the intelligent production management software. In today's globalized market, it is more important than ever before for food processors to have the ability to control, measure and monitor virtually every aspect of their shop-floor processes. Innova tracks and controls key performance indicators (KPIs) in real-time, including yield and throughput.

The Carnitech FatAnalyzer is designed for highly accurate on-line measurement of beef, pork and veal. The system makes a continuous measurement of the meat as it leaves the grinder, i.e. before entering the mixer, thus saving precious time on laboratory tests and ensuring correct batch values.

At Anuga FoodTec Marel and Stork will also be launching Marel Food Systems' brand new checkweigher, the M-Check RF8 with its open, hygienic and sturdy construction, making it the obvious choice for the wet food industry.

For more information, visitors can find Marel and Stork at Anuga FoodTec 2009 in Hall 9, stand #D010 and F019.
