Lohmann Animal Health has entered the Italian poultry market, having secured the registration of the important salmonella vaccines — AviPro Salmonella Vac E and T — in that country.
The vaccine business will be co-ordinated through the Milan office by Roozbeh Dowlatshahi and Andrea Cioffi, of LAH Italia.
The launch was marked by a seminar near Bologna in northern Italy — a strategic position for the poultry industry — attended by specialist poultry vets and major Italian poultry companies. Presentations were made by senior Lohmann staff. This included an update on legislation and the prevalence of salmonella in the EU by Dr Felix Ponsa and new data on the cross-protection conferred by AviPro Salmonella Vac E against S. Gallinarum, by Dr Rita Weber, Lohmann’s technical services manager.
The market entry is being supported by a major advertising campaign “Lohmann kicks off in Italy”.
